She
was born in, Devon, England in 1890. Her first husband was colonel
Archibald Christie an army pilot. She filed for divorce in 1928. She
would later remarry to a man called Samuel Mallows.
She is the best mystery writer of all time and only Shakespeare and the bible sell more than her. She has sold about 2 billion copies of her books.1 billion are in English the other billion are in 45 different languages. She is easily considered one of the best authors of all time. She was born in 1890 Agatha May Clarissa Miller in Devon, England. She never went to school. She married Archie Christie a World War I fighter pilot. She worked as a nurse while her husband was gone. In her first book she created the character Hercule Poirot, a nit picky retired Belgian police officer. She also created Miss Jane Marple who is an elderly woman from Mary St. Mead. She created a play called "Mousetrap" that holds the record for the longest run ever. It started in London 1952 and after 20,000 performances is still being preformed today. In 1955 she received the Grand Master Award and in the same year she was given an Edgar Award. She died on January 12, 1976, at age 85 from natural causes, in Cholsey near Wallingford Oxfordshire.
