Judi Blume

                                                                    Judy Blume

            Judi Blume has written over twenty-one books that were made into 75million copies around the world. Those book copies are in about twenty different languages. She has one over ninety awards like: the New York NO 1. Bestseller, Margaret A. Edwards Award for Lifetime Achievement. The one she loves the most is the Children Choice Award, she has won that in thirty states including Australia, England, and Germany.

            Judi was born on February 12, 1938 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. When she was growing up she wrote a lot of books, now she is writing them on paper, and they are better than ever. When she was at Public school she was skinny, small, and shy. She loved to read Judi always had a book in her hand that is probably how she became a writer. Judi went to college at the New York University were she got her Bachelors of Science.

            Now she is the founder of trustee of the kids fund. Also she is a very active spoke person for the National Coalition against Censorship. When she first started writing people were telling kids what to read. She thought it should have been their choice not the people. As she started writing she wrote a very honest book called Places I Never Meant to Be. Like this book and some other ones weren’t put in libraries or in bookstores. That didn’t help her with her business, and she also wanted kids to read her books. Also now Judi has three kids and a grand child.

            Some of her inspirations came for her life. Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret is about Judi’s life at elementary and middle school. Judi was very shy and lied about things. Also in Places I Never Meant To Be is another story about her life. Iggie’s House is another book were she took personal experience. She wrote in the 60’s when there were a lot of problems with African Americans.
