C.S. Lewis

(1898 - 1963 )

Clive Staples Lewis was born in Belfast on November 29 1898. He lived near Oxford in Belfast Ireland. He lived with his close friend and brother Warren. He also lived with his mother who ran the house along with the cooks, maids, and the children’s nanny. His mother was, Flora Augusta Hamilton Lewis who married his father Albert J Lewis.

They all moved to a new larger house that they named “Little Lea”. By the time that they had moved to “Little Lea” Clive was seven. he and Warren found the several attics very interesting. Him and Warren spent most of the time in the several attics writing stories and drawing pictures about their favorite fantasies, which were talking animals and Knights in armor.

When Clive was ten his mother died of cancer on his fathers birth day. After the death of their mother Clive and Warren were both sent to Wynyard School in England. He then attended Camp Bell College, because of serious respiratory difficulties. April through September he attended Oxford as a student.

He successfully wrote many books including my favorite series The Chronicles of Narnia. Two weeks before his sixty- fifth birth day he died at 5:30P.M in his home “the Kilns”. He will always be remembered for being an excellent author with an incredible imagination.
