The Mighty Roman Empire Project 2006
During our study
of ancient Rome you will be expected to research
and present one of the following topics about the Roman
Empire to your Core class.
Keep in mind your learning style and choose a method of presentation
that fits the way you learn. You will
give an oral presentation to your classmates on an assigned day. You will also make up a study guide and give
a test about your project to your classmates after your presentation.

- Identify the location (map) and
describe the importance of Aeneas.

and Remus.
- Identify the location (map) and describe
the importance of Cincinnatus.
- Identify the location (map) and describe
the importance of Julius Caesar.

- Describe the government of the Roman Republic and its significance
(include: written constitution, tripartite government, check and balances and
civic duty)
- Identify the location of and the
political and geographic reasons for the growth of Roman territories and
expansion of the empire. Include
how the empire fostered economic growth through the use of currency and
trade routes.
- How did ancient Rome go from a republic to an
empire? How did Julius Caesar and
Augustus help?
- Trace the migration of Jews around the
Mediterranean region. Explain their conflict with the Romans, and the
Romans restrictions on their right to live in Jerusalem.
- How did Christianity begin?
- Explain the life and teachings of Jesus
of Nazareth as describe in the New Testament and his part in the
history of ancient Rome.
- Explain the contributions of St.
Paul the Apostle to the spread of Christian beliefs (Include the belief
in the Trinity, resurrections, and salvation.)
- Describe the circumstances that led to
the spread of Christianity in Europe
and other Roman territories.
- Describe Roman art.
- Describe Roman music.
- Describe Roman architecture.
- Describe Roman technology.
- Describe Roman science.
- Describe Roman literature.
- Describe Roman language (Latin).
- Describe Roman law and compare it to
our laws in the U.S.
today.
- Explain the history of the Olympic games.
- Build a Roman chariot and describe how
it works.
- Describe the Roman aqueducts.
