The book The Child Called is about a young boy named David Pelzer who was abused by his mother. The main characters are David and his mom. In the story, his mother abuses David and his mother is the one that abuses him. One of David’s adventures was running away from home. He ran to a pizzeria where he got free food. Then the owner called the police and David’s father came to pick him up. My favorite character is David because he stood up for what he believed in and he became free of the torture. The authors point in this book was to say that child abuse is very wrong and no child should ever have to go through it.

I cannot relate to this characters role in the book because my family loves me very much. They would never hurt me like the child in this book. I also have never felt like this character. The reason in  have never felt like this character is because he was sad in the whole book. Whenever I am sad I get happy again in a few hours.

I loved this book; it was the best book I have ever read. My favorite part was when David stood up to his mom even though he still got punished. He stood up for himself just like a child should do. I do not have a least favorite part of the book. I think the book is perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

I would definitely recommend this book to another person. I think any type of person would like this book. Any type of person would like this book because it shows a great lesson. After reading this book, I want to jump up and help all the children that are being abused by people in their lives
