It’s not just about the bike, is the title of this great book, and after reading this you will know that it really isn’t “just about the bike”. Lance Armstrong is dictating his lives story to the wonderful writer Sally Jenkins. The two hundred and eighty nine pages cover everything from love, to biking, to cancer. Every little experience of this truly amazing man’s life is thoroughly written down in great detail. You can almost see him winding around an icy mountain in the Alps, going fifty miles per hour. They also included a chapter on the Tour De France and the 2000 Olympics.

I could relate to a lot of Lances feelings and thoughts throughout the entirety of the book, and I have a strange feeling that you will be able to as well. Although you may have never one the Tour De France, or had cancer, you will end up feeling that you have, through his eyes. During the book a lot of bad things happen to Lance, and you can really feel his pain. Getting 53rd place in your first tour must not be easy! I felt like I had known Lance all my life.

In my personal opinion I thought this book was absolutely astounding, amazing, you won’t be able to put it down! I definitely liked the book, and generally I’m not one for autobiographies. I didn’t think this book had any weak points at all. The only thing I would maybe change is not being so descriptive in the cancer part of things. But still an over all great rating.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to have a good time. For two whole weeks my eyes were glued to the pages, when it was time to turn the lights off and go to bed, I would wait until my mom left, and then start reading again. This is a great read for people all ages. “ I want to die at one hundred years old, flying down an alpine hill, wearing the yellow jersey, with a Texas star on my helmet, an American flag on my back, with my wife waiting for me at the finish-line”. Come on, join the race, you won't be sorry!
